THIS MONTH’S JOY RIDE…
… is a beauty!
We’ll be cycling from Shepreth train station (meet in the car park next to the train station) through the lovely Cambridgeshire country lanes to the magisterial Wimpole Hall Estate, where we’ll stop for coffee and cake at the Stables Coffee Shop. Of course, it will be a beautiful sunny September day, so we’ll have chance to enjoy the changing colours of the autumn season as we cycle along!
One of our fellow Joy Riders has assured us that this lovely ride is do-able for all, even those who are only just getting back into the pedal of things!
If you’re coming from Cambridge and need to travel by train, there is one from Cambridge at 09.44am, arriving at 10.12am. We’ll officially meet at 10.30am. We’ll wait awhile for any latecomers, anyway!
National Rail times for Sunday 25 September from Cambridge to Shepreth can be found here.
Wimpole Hall will be in the throws of the Second World War on Sunday 25 September, as it hosts the Wimpole at War weekend. So we’re bound to meet some Land Girls or Home Guard on the way in to the Hall. Best behaviour everyone and remember – no lycra!
